What to Expect at 2022's MCM comic con

MCM Comic Con has been a fan-pleasing event since its incorporation in May 2002. With the culture of fandom continuing to expand, comic cons have become a right of passage for those passionate about major pop culture series such as Batman and the MCU. Regulars will also go to the next level and take cosplay weapons and figures to fully engross themselves in the experience.

For 2022, MCM Comic Con has three events taking place throughout the year. MCM London will take place at the ExCel venue on the Royal Victoria Dock, in Spring between the 27th and 29th of May and in Autumn between the 28th and 30th of October. Also, between the 12th and 13th of November, MCM Comic Con will take place in Birmingham at the National Exhibition Centre. These events will showcase a wide variety of guests and interactive elements throughout the weekends. But, what should you expect? Check out this helpful list of fan favourite features for your next comic con.

Panels and Guests

Comic Cons are a great place also to meet your favourite characters; in the form of the actors who play them. Last year's MCM London had an entire panel of the Loki cast including Jonathon Majors (He Who Remains), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie) and the man himself, Tom Hiddleston. Usually, special guests are announced closer to the time, so make sure you check our news page for the latest updates.

You also can expect various different panels and sneak peek into the latest TV, film and even gaming worlds. Get your merchandise and cosplay weapons signed by the ones that wield them in fiction.

Cosplay Weapons and Events

As Comic Cons get bigger and more extravagant, cosplay has become a major factor for participants, especially at every MCM comic con. Not just wearing a T-shirt with your favourite marvel character on, cosplayers will fully immerse themselves through their wardrobe, prosthetic make-up and cosplay weapons. For people considering this, MCM comic con hosts an entire platform for cosplayers to show off their incredible and unique designs. From prop weapons to cosplay masks, many believe going in costume is how to truly experience comic con. So if this interests you, apply before 15th April to be a part of its line-up.

Here at Next Level UK, we follow all MCM Comic Con's rules for cosplaying and our products are safe to use throughout the exhibition. Safety precautions in place include making sure cosplay weapons do not have metal blades or are wooden or metal bats. So for all you Harley Quinns out there, alternatives will need to be considered. Our cosplay weapons are primarily made out of foam so they are safe to use, whilst still looking like the item. Why not cosplay as Thor from Avengers: Infinity War? His Stormbreaker Axe is perfect for exciting a crowd and showcasing your costumes in the cosplay masquerades, where awards for best performance can be won.
